Santa Clara University Senior Art Show

My pieces explore the relationship between the hardness of the wood and the fluidity of form. Using rigid wooden shapes as a starting point, I employed a reductive method to precisely delineate the boundaries of my pieces. By pushing in and pulling out the wood in select areas, I create forms that are meant to guide the viewer through defined compositions. My work serves as a resting place, one where viewers can let their eyes wander and not think about anything else.
